Posting pics from

I have a photo album in the  PFT Carnivorous Plants Photo Gallery…Private plant collections at;

http://www.cpforums.org/gallery/albums.php

When I try to post a photo on the "forums" and paste in the address of a particular photo  such as;

http://www.cpforums.org/gallery/album01/perfect_landing?full=1

I get the following error message;

THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND
You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif

Any ideas as to how to cure this problem?

Hi,

That error is because you are trying to post the HTML version of the page. You need to right click on the picture, and go to properties to get the address of the picture. For example, for that pic, the picture's address is :http://www.cpforums.org/gallery/albums/album01/perfect_landing.jpg

Here it is in an image tag:

You mean this one? Wow, that is one greedy little plant! First thing I had to do is turn of my pop-up blocker for a moment. I got to your pic and right clicked on it. At the bottom of the options is properties. left click on properties. At the top left of the screen will be the computerese properties. Right click in there and left click select all. Do a CTRL C (to copy) and then hit okay. Go to your topic thread and click image. To the top left a window will pop up that has HTTP:// in it. Do a CTRL V. That will do the pasting and the URL will go into the post. To check and make sure you actually got something - do preview. If you see the pic, you got it. IF you just see some kind of computerese- that's all you got.

Aaaah ha!  By jove, I think I've got it. Thanks Trashcan.  Thanks Jim.
