I have today off and thought I would snap a few shots:

Lowes rescue Sarracenia rubra after 2 months out of "the tomb":

Youngest specimen of Sarracenia leucophylla 'Hurricane Creek White' I decided to conduct an experiment using the Osmocote fertilizer pellets. I pushed 3 pellets gently under the soil line 2 months ago. The wilted pitchers are old growth. The new growth since I placed the pellets in the soil is obvious... nearly twice the height of existing pitchers and still growing! Additionally it has formed another growth point. This plant is only 2 years old and already has a pitcher approaching 8 inches!

The characteristic all white top of the cultivar is already showing!

'Hummer's Giant':

in about 2 months both the Sarracenia leucophylla 'Hurricane Creek White' and Sarracenia rubra ssp. rubra will go outside in my bog gardens. It'll be interesting to see the progress on the test 'Hurricane Creek White' versus the medium plants from separate clones that have been outside for full dormancy.

Thanks Jim. I can't wait to see what this particular clone of S. leucophylla 'Hurricane Creek White' does for me in full sun. So far it has been a vigorous grower.

Woah! I think they're propagating a new rubra clone in the Death Cubes... the one I got last year doesn't look anyhting like yours! Nice Plants!

That's the darkest looking 'Hummer's Giant' that I've ever seen.

They get really dark under my T5s. Although maybe it's this particular clone because when I received it it was already pretty dark.

Thanks Southernman. Those T5s really do the job. Just a quick update... the first distinct pitcher since using Osmocote fertilizer pellets has fully opened. It is almost triple the size of growth prior to using the pellets and measured just a tad over 8 inches tall. Sorry for the pics... not the best quality. I hope it doesn't grow too much more before I can put it outside in March! It is already touching some of the lights
