peat moss growth

Hi there,

I've noticed that over these past two years, the peat moss/perlite combination soil that I use is growing these little plants around all of my fly traps, and they really get annoying. Do these help the fly traps in any way or are they harming them? They seem okay, but are really starting to take over the soil. I will post a picture soon.

I generally pull out extraneous plants in my pots.

I pull out weeds that come up in the peat from time to time, but the carpet moss that also grows I tend to leave until the plants need repotting, unless it is causing a problem, ie smothering seedlings or smaller plants.
