Indiana Gardener

Got Drosera?
I was out at my pond today and noticed a newcomer.

I netted her out for this photo. At least I believe it's a she if it isn't too young yet for the plastron to be settled on a shape.

I have two questions.

1) The pond is just a small lined garden featured, not a natural pond with mud and all. This fall, she won't be able to burrow into the mud and may die like so many frogs that have met that fate. I think releasing her into a real pond would be her best chance for survival?

2) If it is possible to let her stay, and who wouldn't want to see more of that little face, how long until she's old enough to start eating sarasa? I obviously don't want that.

Thanks for any help!

he's so cute! Maybe you could release hijm into a real pond at the end of the year, but it would be hard to find him again... I don't know these things though, this is just my opinion. Great pic too.
