When P.xGeorge Sargent starts to go dormant the leaves should shrink considerably. The entire rosette should be composed of numerous small leaves i.e. if the summer rosette had 12 leaves at a time, then the winter rosette should have upwards of 50 leaves. If the plant is going dormant, start to reduce the watering until the soil is completely dry.
