Northern lights

Noticed a nice show of northern lights last night, while driving to work. anyone from the northern latitudes see them too? i am in NW Wisconsin.
 
it was too cloudy and snowy to see them last night.. but we had some amazing displays in September.. I just love when they're pink and almost red..

Anybody know why there are no "Southern Lights"?

NW Wisc. about 70 miles straight east of the twin cities.

Actually, there are southern lights in the southern hemisphere.
 
and there are no northen lights in the U.K

i saw a little bit, living in colorado springs there is alot of light pollution so i couldnt see them that well
 
Awww I didn't see them. I live in PA to. I probably could have.
 
Figures lol it's always cloudy and snowing when the activity is high
