I know, I couldn't resist it! Just such a neat hybrid, I know one of the Sarracenia guru's here will know what it is.

Newer pitcher with nice colors.

I know one of the parents is S. leucophylla.....i was guessing the final cross is maybe S. x moorei?

i'm no guru but i think the first one is s. leucophylla ' red ' and the second one is either the same thing or s. x judith hindle . nice darlingtonia too .

Hi goldtrap, yep i snagged that Darlingtonia too

Um there were 2 plants in the same terrarium thingy....I assume they must be the same cross since they were in the same container (I hope the distributor was smart enought to put look alikes together!) I assume they are the same cross like I stated earlier...but who knows for sure. Thanks for the info tho, I didn't even think of S. leucophylla 'red'

Hello,
First 2 pictures look like a, like you said an S. 'moorei', or something. The last showed like luecophylla and what looked like S. 'Mardi Gras' a little bit. So, its a tough one. Usually, Lowes will sell S. rubra, and occasionally a S. x catesbai or S. luecophylla.

Hi Kevin, guess the true identity will show up this spring/summer when the plant is in full growth.

Hard to say for sure, but based on the pics, I would feel confident guessing it is Judith Hindle.

Hi Aaron, yes that was my initial thought on it too. Thanks for your reply.

Do you think I'll get some nicer pitchers this spring on it?

Judith hindle would be my guess as well, definately something containing leucophylla, and purpurea anyways!

Hey Dustin,

I would think you'll get some good size plants this upcoming year, especially if it gets a proper dormancy. Hard to tell when those plants are from Lowe's-type places. Ilt seems to be a decent size though, and those plants from Lowe's seem to put on a growth spurt when they're moved to a more favorable location.

I'll show you a plant from Lowe's some of you won't belive. I'll be up around noon, I'll edit this post to place the image here.

EDIT: here they are: I still have yet to varify whether it is var. burkei or not.
