New Phalenopsis

nepenthes gracilis

Nepenthes Specialist
Hey guys, thought I would just share these new photos of a pretty ordinary Phalenopsis in bloom.

Kinda warms you up for the dead of winter.

even ordinary plants are darn goodlooking

I had one like that too. Even though I claim to be uninterested in big flowered hybrids, a plant like that lights up a room.

All our Phals are in spike, a few are already opened. Nice to see Phals growing and blooming side by side with Neps. We grow our Phals and Paphs a bit too shady for Nepenthes (the exception is N. northiana). In our greenhouse, Vandas and Ascocendas grow virtually side by side with N. mirabilis, N. coccinea and N. ventrata. Someday we'll have pics!

Trent

Hi everyone.

Trent, mine are under a bit too much light but still do OK. I plan to have a small orchid section with a bit of 70% shade cloth custom cut to accompany a small bench section. I love the tropical orchids but my growing techniqyes are most directed to my native Cypripedium species.
