I was thrilled to learn these plants can overwinter where I live(?-crossing fingers), so I did some research, and filled in my pond

I started with a layer of sand..

Then a layer of just peat

And filled the rest with peat and sand mix.

I put in a 4" pvc pipe standing up with holes drilled around the bottom to check the water level and remove excess water if need be.

I'm lucky to live near a native bog, where I found and scooped a little of this beautiful sphagnum moss :awesome:

I ordered a selection from a local grower, and got everything planted. Dug another pond and a little stream in behind.

Drosera rotundifolia (apparently this grows in the bog that the sphagnum came from)

Drosera intermedia
