Nepenthes Update

Cindy, do you live near holland village or farrer road
Then you could pass the cutting to me without bothering to send the cutting with sphagnum moss. Is sending the plant through mail very safe for the plant?

I have sent D. intermedia seedlings and D. filiformis plantlets produced from leaf cuttings to various CPers in SG and so far, all survive the postage. Since Nepenthes are much tougher plants than Drosera, I would predict that it would not be a problem.

I'm for the setting up of CP Hotel (or hotel chain if we have enough volunteers)...hehe, but I've got to get the balcony at my new place ready and test the conditions with my own plants first.

Anyone grows your plants North-facing on a balcony? It's very bright the whole day but I'm worried it's TOO windy...

Jason: Posting is not a problem. I've sent cuttings to ebeyonder and wezx via post before. It's up to you whether you still want me to pass the plant to you near HV. That's fine too 'cos I'm having my holidays and I will be quite free. Let me know.

Btw, the cutting has roots already so you just need to put it in a pot.

I'm all for a CP hotel. I'd specialise in Nep care, but with good instructions I should probably be able to handle most species.

Army could be a problem, though.

i have a place in my apartment facing north but it has really little light the last time i checked! maybe it's because of the tall buildings blocking

I grow my neps on sort of a balcony, with a wall barrier about 1m high blocking the lower part, so my plants don't recieve much sunlight either (tall buildings as well)

Cindy I PMed you regarding nep cuttings
