N.gracilis

I was given a gracilis with really dark red pitchers a while ago. It didn't grow well so I took some cuttings and give them away. Meanwhile, I kept only one scrawy stem.

Recently, it decided it wanted to grow and this is what I got.  

I'm embarrassed to say that it pales in comparison to my student's plant, which was from a cutting I gave away. All his pitchers were deep maroon throughout, not spotted like mine.

Even so, I was tempted to taste the nectar.

Wow, that is nice. Anyway, looks like it needs more light. I have observed Nep. gracilis (red form) in the wild in Singapore, They are growing totally exposed to full sunlight for almost the entire day. No shade at all. The pitchers were however, small because they are growing on the side of a short cliff, and there is almost no moisture except for the occasional rain.
