Saw one on ebay once. Doesn't really interest me though, I have a lot of non-cp variegated plants. Getting tired of it.

I thought it would be neat to have a variegated cp. I mean think about it, the effect is two fold. You have a plant with ornamental foliage, plus it produces beautiful pitchers. And ontop of that, it eats bugs! Not a very common combination at all.

The variegated Alata is supposedly really hard to grow. Haven't heard much about 'Scarlet Splash' but This was the one I saw on ebay.

"Scarlet Splash" is a variegated Nepenthes coccinea that turned up in a tissue culture batch at a lab in Florida.  The plant was given to a friend of mine, a nursery owner in FL, who gave a cutting to Steve Hinkson, a grower/hobbyist in Nevada.  Steve is the seller on ebay.  "Scarlet Splash" is said to be easier to grow than the alata variegated, which has been mentioned in print a few times over the last 20 years, so it's been around awhile.
