Does anybody know the effects of moldy bugs on the plant itself?

As far as I know, there are none.  It is always wise though to remove possible disease and mold carrying objects to reduce risk of contamination though.  Of course in the wild no one cleans up after them, but in cultivation I like to keep them clean and safe!
