My mimosa plants just came out of 'soft dormancy' and grow like hell.... Spring, where are ya:-(

I never noticed that these things have thorns. O.O Maybe it's because most everything that grows here has thorns. I went around the yard yesterday and saw quite a few of these starting to make a comeback already. They don't really die back here, doesn't get much below the mid 20's. I should try cultivating some... but it's wild here so not sure if there is much point. Guess I could always pick some ones in the yard to claim as mine.
