Keeping s purpurea pitchers full

Do you need to keep S purpurea pitchers full of water all of the time? My first pitcher is just opening...Yaaay...should I top it off with some water?

Yup, make sure there's always water in them...don't put in the water untill the pitcher is fully open.

If you don't keep them full of water, they won't catch any insects.

As full as it will go is the best way to do it.

If you put in too much water the bugs will just crawl out. I have a pressurized sprayer with diffrent nozzles. I have one nozzle that I call the rain nozzle. It almost sprays just like a light rain.
I spay over most of my plants that I have in my greenhouse with it about once a week. THe plants outside I let nature fill it up for me. I try to keep the traps about half full of water.
