Its SNOWING!

Despite the fact that it was **64 degrees** yesterday, I woke up to a light snow/rain mix. It gradually turned over to snow and now its been snowing for 8 hours.

Wheee! Its fluctuated between light and heavy. So far not too much accumulation (a few inches) but the world just grows whiter and whiter. Its 4 p.m. and they have shut the office down and sent us on our way. Gotta love that! (I have to cook tonite making Chicken Divan for the office Grinch Auction tomorrow).

The snow is not supposed to stop til 4 a.m. tomorrow! I HOPE they are right.

I just LOVE snow!

. It's fun for the first day or two but me and winter aren't on speaking terms after a week.

*grumbles something about shovelling*
*looks out the window*
*sees snow*

When it snows, most of my friends think "skiing."

I, on the other hand, think of slush, black ice, car batteries dying, drudging sand and salt into the apartment, going thru 20 gallons of windshield wiper fluid to remove salt spray, and freezing my butt off wiping the horrible stuff from my car! I could go on, but I think you get my point! hehe.

I don't care whether it snows or not - I'm a winter person so as long as it gets cold and the overly commercialised Christmas is over, I'm happy!

chloroplast- finally someone to share my pain

I can never understand why so many people hate snow.

Of course, I paid for my joy by losing my power last nite. I have a feeling it will not be on when I get home either.

But I still love snow.

Fortunately, the Nor'Easter veered seaward and I didn't get any snow today. Dodged the first bullet....but I'm sure there will be many more.

I'm with you on this one. Snow is the best!!!

We haven't had much in Britain since 1995/6 though. Hopefully this year will bring the white stuff back.

In the meantime, I'll have to be content with harsh frosts, which still make everything white.

Ahhh...another snow lover.

Well...we were disappointed to learn the second storm expected Friday will bring only some freezing rain and rain. Initially they said another batch of snow, more than the first storm. We were all eager for a three-day weekend. I'm still hoping the storm will change course and put us back into the "snow" area.

What is this snow and frost stuff you people keep talking about? It was 77 degrees here today and tonight's low is going to be a chilly 65 degrees. Just a question - if most of you hate snow and cold weather why don't you move to a place with a normal climate?

If only life were that simple. I couldn't survive in the states and another continent is too costly right now. I guess I'm just pessimistic.

a place with normal weather... Look, everyone whines about it. i dont mind it, dont bother me. If u dont like it dont live here. or atleast stop whining about it because that wont make it go away. Snowbirds who go south to escape are wussies. Thats just my opinion

Well, it began to snow here this morning. I like snow personally. But it rarely sticks around here.

I'm in Evansville, some of you might have heard about the storm we had last winter; 20 inches in one day. Then two days later it was all melting and flooding things. *sigh* I hope it sticks longer this year, but I know it won't.

Ah, that would be Western New York, with all four seasons!

No snow here today. It came down hard for a day or two last week, but didn't stick long. There's a few dismembered snowmen lying around but that's about it. It started to clear up yesterday, though, and has gotten really cold without the clouds... the pond I walk by on the way to school each day has been freezing over in parts, and there's been lots of frost. I'm hoping a storm system will come through and bring some sticky snow.
At the same time, we don't see snow enough here for most people to drive rationally - which is confusing, because there's snowy montaine areas all around the Pacific NW where you really should know how to handle snowy conditions. Not only do we have people who panic in the snow, but there's a lot of folks who just zip right through like it's a dry, sunny day. I just don't understand that at all. I don't even drive (no car/license) and I know how to drive in snow... and I'm from places where it snows even less than here in Washington. Anyways, < /rant > I like snow too, hooray!
