is this proper care

ok i got my vft in fish bowl. it is about a 2 gallon size fish bowl, with a wide mouth. i keep about an inch of distilled water in there at all times. i put it on my deck in the morning and bring it in when the sun goes down. is that ok care for the my vft? its got red traps.

Sounds fine. If the plant is not obviously dying and it has red traps than it is likely to be happy with its conditions.

Does the traps change color quickly if they are not happy with the conditions? Also about how long does it take for the traps to open or close?

Hey VFT Will

The trap closing depends on a ton of things

1) age of trap
2) # of times that it has opened and closed
3) temps
4) light


On opening, the trap opens in about a day or so with no food in it. Up to a week after catching a bug.
