I found this guy in the corner of my backyard (I called my dad over because I thought it was some type of hive). I thought he was joking, but he thought it was a giant morel. I thought that morel season was over a while ago, so I'm thinking it's a false morel? It has a brown goo on the cap and smells very, very strong.

Edit: Thanks, exo, I just got backed on that by a couple other people.

They are, they attract flies to spread their spores.....the flies land on the spore filled slime and get it stuck to their feet, then they take the spores wherever they land next.
