Inner City Zoo's

Got a season pass to the state's zoo's for my birthday. All of which happen to be right down in 3 of the largest cities in Michigan.. Lansing, Battle Creek, and of course Detroit. So I started with the one in the capitol city. Mostly because it's only 10min. away. :-O So first up for that one reason is Potter Park Zoo in Downtown Lansing, MI.

Sorry for the crappy pics.. my camera sucks. :-(

A couple turtles in their "Michigan's Turtles" exhibit. I actually talked to a couple park managers about donating my Blanding's Turtle (one of MI's rarest turtles) to their exhibit!! I'd get a small donation name plack on the exhibit sign for my contribution to the park. Fun fun..

the hare is a mara and the small deer looks like a muntjac.....sabertoothed deer......

Lots of cute animal picksures! :-D
You know, I don't think I've ever seen a train. I think that would've been the highlight of the day for me if I was there

NEVER SEEN A TRAIN!?!?!? :0o: We have trains and tracks every few miles. It's a pain.. Drive, stop and wait.. drive some more.. stop and wait. They run from Detroit to EVERYWHERE!! Except Sarasota of course.

Yeah...no idea what's up with that. I know there's train tracks, but there's never trains on them. idk if I just don't go out enough or what. But I've never seen a train.

I'd see it and go "OMG TRAIN! :0o:"

Wow, what an awesome gift. I hope whoever gave it to you knows how much you'll enjoy it. I'm freaking bonkers for the zoo.

When I was a little kid that zoo had a small train that went around the zoo. I remember my favorite part of the train ride was going through this long tunnel in one of the hills. The hill and tunnel doors was still there, but no train or tracks. :-(
