Identify this plant

I thought I could stump you guys in the past, but I was wrong everytime. I'm going to try it again

There is a very interesting story behind this pic, but I'll tell it after you guys guess it.

I got those in my yard I don`t know what there called though.

is it butter and eggs? can't think of the latin name off hand.

It reminds me of something called bird trifoil - or something to that effect.

Probably in the pea family.

it look like bird's-foot trefoil, Lotus corniculatus, although I dont know what country you are in and where you got it, so it could be something similar...

Perhaps it came over from Europe, just as the dandelion had, during colonization and / or exploration?

I have never seen it growing here though.  

you should get out more, it is common on roadside verges and short grassland.

I do, I go walking in this field nearly every da, and I have been walking in fields and woods, and I have NOT seen this plant.

It`s a very small plant and you have to look hard to see it of course it`s usualy so numerous as to give a orange haze to the ground.....
