I really want more flytraps!

I looked into the sites previously mentioned in this forum, and one Canadian carniverous plant supplier (nice guy) doesn't have flytraps. The one in the US that will ship to Canada hasn't gotten back to me! I'm so impatient...:) That place had some REALLY nice ones. I SOOO want the royal red, it's gorgeous! But, if ordering such a finicky plant from the US to Canada, how can I be sure it'll survive the trip? Isn't there ANYONE who grows and sells healthy flytraps in Canada...I mean, our local garden centers have a few, all quite sickly!

Where in Canada are you? Chris Fieger in quebec sells VFTs, no special ones right now, but I'm sure she'll get some eventually has some REALLY awsum plants........ They always arrive healthy... Her website is here...

Carl Mazur has some really good plants too. I'm actually going out to his greenhouse on sunday... yea, was gonna be yesterday, but my dad had to go and get sick...

Oh well. Hes got like, ten gazillion Sarr Species too... He only sells a few plants from the internet, but hes got lots of seeds, and a link to another Canadian site in his Plants Section...

Thank-you for the help Parasuco...but no links within messages in these forums seem to work for me...is it possible to write out the URL's in your next reply?

I live in Alberta btw..:)

Oops....nevermind! I retrieved the properties for your link and pasted them. Thanks! I've been to Niagra Exotics before, I wasn't sure about it. I see a small list of flytraps available there, but the way it's posted it almost looks like it's private stock, or trade? Have you or has anyone you know ordered a flytrap from them before and was it healthy and such?

I'm in the process of ordering some drosera species from Chris, but I didn't see flytraps on his plants list?

Thanks again Parasuco!

Chris is Female... Check her About Me page... Hehehe...

Um. Yea, Niagara Exotics doesnt tend to sell plants across the internet, as Carl specialises mostly in Sarracenia, which arent the easiest to send... It is a retail website, privatley owned though... He's got TONS of sarrs in his greenhouse, the guy is an expert, IMO at least...

If you go to matis carnivores, which is accessable thru the Niagara exotics page, you'll see alot of plants. I just recieved some from Frank today, and i really have to say that I am impressed...

I've sent you a message with some information C. Newbie.

Oops...don't I feel sheepish! I'll keep shopping. I know the one place I went to (although now I can't remember the site) somewhere in the states has some beautiful ones. I'm still waiting to hear back from them.
Thanks for the "heads-up" Parasuco!

I'll try to read your message soon Alvin. I'm currently dealing with some  explorer issues that won't allow me to view your message or open links in new windows. That'll hopefully be dealt with by tomorrow.

Thanks for the helps! :)
