How compact should the soil be when repotting? Because I'm afraid that I compact the soil too much and as a result they don't get enough circulation and the roots rot. That's what I think happened to my VFT seedlings, the roots just turn black and dont grow.
That's hard to say Peter. I don't pack mine too tight but I also put my plants in a raised mound in the center. As I water over time and the soil settles, it comes down slightly but not too low down in the pot.
