lavenderdawn...actually I work in what is called a "center". I control aircraft from the surface to about 50k feet from wilimington n.c. to hopewell Virginia. It is considered to be the busiest step on the ladder of air traffic control. Va is great, I am originally from PA, but did atc for seven years in the usn in San Diego. I really love it, very challenging and that is what I like about it. It can be a stressful job, yes, but it is all in how you good you are or are not.

I think VA is a great state and an easy one to go the majority of cps in, with exception being given to the cobra lillies.

Wesley: That includes tennis, but especially ping-pong and volleyball. Yes, great win. You should have seen the game they won in a see-saw battle against Kentucky ~1991, with Christian Laettner making a jumper at the buzzer.

Butthead: Is there a Beavis in your life? Sorry, couldn't resist a bad reference and never can resist a bad pun.

Kiddie? I will always be a kid - of the Peter Pan & Dorian Grey variety. I still get Zits! TMI!

Aren't new cars wonderful? (Husbands can be fun sometimes, too...)
Oh, yeah, mcrwt644, I suppose with new technology 'towers' aren't really necessary, are they?  I'm glad you enjoy your job, that is so important.  And stress comes with living, it's inevitable.  Like you said, it's how you handle it.

And anyone younger than I is a kid...

I had been meaning to address the issue of his age. You did my bidding for me. What does Spectabilis mean?
tounge.gif
I like his other hobby - fish.

Well here's me.
I spend a lot of time with my dog, a 145lb American Bulldog (he's the runt) and we spend a lot of time just walking and people watching. I like to shop and watch people at the mall (my girlfriend loves going to the mall with me, she trusts my fashion judgement) I am working on a career in artistic nude photography and i hope to make a living off of that some day. I am currently into raising poison dart frogs and building terrariums. So i guess that all my hobbies either involve beauty in one way or another. I guess i just have a voyueristic personality =)

I played vice city at a freinds house a few weeks ago... i didn't like it though..
I have grand turismo 3, pole position, and several other racing games, for some reason i love the racing games!
biggrin.gif
i enjoy the strategy and combat games the best though, I have ace combat 04, i love that one! I cant wait untill starcraft: ghost comes out, that one looks real good, but i dont really like the first person part of it though, its better when you're controlling a whole army instead of just having one guy, if hes shot you're dead lol

yes, thats right, I'm 99 years old( ;) ), i dont have glasses yet, and i still dont get headaches from video games!
tounge.gif

(few people know my real age, and may they have the worst of luck should they tell

)

jimscott: oh yea, i forgot, fish! thats my other hobby. (im sure there are a few others im leaving out too) my convict cichlids are getting huge now, most are over two inches and are developing their mature coloration! (pinkish bellies for females and dead black and blueish white stripes for males) I'm going to have to give a few away, the tank is kinda murky
sad.gif
i had my father take care of my fish while i was in oregon, unfortunately he fed them a little much and thats why they're huge and why the waters murky lol

When I was a kid I had a basement full of tanks - 8 of them. I had a breeding pair of black convicts in one; jewel fish in another; a mixed tank for livebearers; a tank for water sprite; and the rest devoted to breeding, dwarf, thicklipped, blue, & pearl gouramis; bettas & paradise fish. Had no idea that years later I would work for a tropical fish wholesaler, taking care of one section of freshwater fish, saltwater fish & invertebrates, and the plants. Didn't pay much but it was fun. What does Spectabilis refer to? Is it a species of CP?

spectabilis73-I use to work in san diego. I worked on NASNI (which is the naval station for those who may not know). I controlled the airspace from about San clemente island south past TJ. I also worked the areas off of Big Sur, Salinas, and Oakland. So I am familiar with all of the nocal stuff. Towers are still used, probably more then ever. Basically, there are severaly layers to the Air Traffic system. 1-the tower, they get you up to about 10k feet or so, depending, and hand you off to 2 approach control and they can take you as high as 23k feet or so. Then there is us, the center. We handle you up at the highest elevations, as well as to the ground in some spots. I control around Raliegh NC, and there are places known as uncontrolled airports where pilots do their own thing and we clear them to where ever after that. It can get to be very busy. We handle in the neighborhood of 8500 operations on any given day.

mcrwt644, what an awesome job.  Not one I would like but it is one of those things when you think about it you go, " wow..."

drunknmunky, that's another awesome job.  I have seen some really wonderful nude photographs - real art, just beautiful.  Do you have a favorite subject?

Besides CPs, I can't ever stop talking about fly-fishing or CARS!! Well, let's talk about the goods... First, fly-fishing:

Orvis Battenkill 5/6 Disc Reel
Orvis somethingWater 8 or 9 foot, I have to check.
tounge.gif

I have been on several fly-fishing trips, if anyone else fishes a lot, just ask about them.

CARS!! :
I love flinging my dad's 2004 E55 AMG around the road course near my house. Riding in a friend's Ferrari F40, and racing against several other Porsches, Evos, etc. (in the E55) I'm not in to modifying/"tuner" cars, or that whole deal. I like factory performance or modifying for WRC (my favorite), and I love a nicely restored classic. The SRT-4 friend should come drag race me in the E55. Ooh, that would be a close one. LOL!

I also love all herps, nature, etc. Any music that's not weird, rap, anything new and "hip", etc. I'm a little bit different than most.
Geocaching is another pretty big one. Lots of fun.
Being Italian and being my self.
Peace on Earth!!

Hey, I have an E55! Great car, unbelievable power. I'm selling it, though. Don't drive it enough to justify owning it. Anyone want to buy a 1999 E55 with 25K miles on it?

Capslock

Ah yes, the Mercedes Benz E55 AMG is an awesome car.
0-60 mph:4.5 seconds.

Capslock, I don't believe that there is a 1999 E55 AMG. Mercedes started building them last year, I think.
