General method for starting seeds

HI:

I want to order some seeds from the ICPS so I can start growing sarracenias and perhaps some others from seed. Yes, I KNOW they can take 3 years or more to be fully adult.

Is there a general mixture you use for seed starting? I am thinking of 1/2 peat and 1/2 perlite. They will be kept in a closed terrarium.

Advice on selecting seeds to grow would be appreciated.

either one will work, but for sarracenia i use pure milled LFS.

be sure to give them a stratification. or if you want to do things the easy way. go ahead and put em outside this fall, leave them alone and outside and they will sprout in the spring.

To grow now, wrap the seed in a wet paper towel and then wrap in tin foil. Put it in the fridge for 5 weeks and then sow on peat or live moss, athough I find it's better to put a top dressing of peat on the moss otherwise it will grow over the seedlings.
