Well thank you all for telling me about vft flowering. What I would like to know is if I can feed it other insects than flies. Can I feed it small bees? Or parts of bees that do not contain the venom sac?

Well, now that I have set them out for the spring, my plants catch mainly flies, and wasps. Indoors they catch gnats, and spiders. Here are some good choices:
caterpillars(watch it so they dont eat their way out)
flies
spiders
crickets
slugs
Not so good of candidates:
ants
moths
beetles (too much sturdy exoskeleton).
Cole

Never feed the VFT with a bee because..............................................................................IT'S MEAN! - I like bees!
Ewwwwwww ans slugs that is just gross - Do they have an exoskeloten and do they take longer to digest?
