erm, does anyone know what to feed baby sundew? They are about 1cm tall now and it seems like they could eat a tiney bit of fish food, but are they strong enough at this age to handle it or will it just rot before they finesh it?
alot of people feed little dew seedlings very small peices of
dried blood worms.(moisten before feeding them to the dews)
oh and you can find them at petshops
and make sure the
food isn't any larger than the leaf, or it will surely rot.
My seedlings have always eaten the springtails that inhabit all my pots. Thier leaves are almost covered at times. Even if you dont have anything like that, they will photosynthesize, and feed on small organisims from the soil. They can basicaly take care of themselfs at this size.
ah yes well, I feed BW to my VFT and I don't think they would work for this size, but as an experiment, I put a crum of krill on one with a very dewy leaf. I'll watch and see how it goes, but I'll hold off on the others
Wow! My little test subject was hungry. I just checked on it and I was going to remove the big piece of krill it grabbed when I dropped it by mistake, but it has pulled it in over it's leaf and the whole this is coverd in dew and it's like 1/2 the size it was yesterday. As for the crumb, it's almost non existent! I think I'll wait and see what happens, I can't believe how voratious this little thing is.
