It does matter, because medicine has advanced out of all recognition since the late 1700's when homeopathy was invented. Then, homeopathy was seen as an progressive alternative to applying the theory of the four humors and a lot of leeches.
Ask yourself, why aren't homeopathic medicines tested to the same standard as any other drug on the market? The answer is simple, they don't contain any detectable active ingredient to test.

That is just not true. No such studies have proved any such thing, in fact I can point you at any number of studies that conclude exactly the opposite. If anyone had shown homeopathic remedies to be effective don't you think that the likes of Glaxo Smith Cline would have jumped on the bandwagon and be churning the stuff out by the ton? After all, why spend millions researching new drugs when you can sell a product no-one can distinguish from distilled water?
