Do the pitchers need to be in the sun

I was wondering will the pitchers die off if they are not getting the sun? Some of my pitchers don't get any sun but the leaves get the sun. Is this bad? I hope everyone understands the question. The plant is in the window. The leaves get the sun, but the pitchers really don't.

well they dont need to be in the sun. i think the sun helps out to get the plants get bugs. there are markings on the interior of the pitchers, those markings reflect UV light that attracts a near by insect or so to the pitchers. then lid plays an important role as the lamding pad. i bet there are some markings there too that attract bugs too. next the nectar does its thing...
