Do d.binata seeds need stratification?

Hi all, do D.Binata seeds require a dormancy? If so, how long should this be? Do the mature plants require dormancy in a tropical climate? Thanks!

no they dont need a dormancy or stratifaction that I know of.

D. binata seeds do not require a dormancy and can be sown without any such treatment.

If your winters are cold, then they are best sown in late winter to early spring. They germinate quickly and you can keep them in full growth until the next winter, at which time they will go dormant.

In tropical zones you can sow the seeds anytime as they generally will not go dormant.

I think you will find that D. binata 'T forms' from southern Australia will benefit from a dormancy. The dichotoma and multifida forms from more tropical areas of Australia do not require a dormancy for strong growth, but will still go dormant if temps drop too low.
