D.Spathulata

Hey everyone. I just got my "clump" of D.Spathulata from Phil and Jeff. And what to my wondering eyes should appear but a little flower stalk and two tiny buds that were mere. Well I did try anyways. But anyways my D.Spathulata is flowering and has 3 buds but here is the catch only 2 flower stalks. Well one has fishtailed into two buds. What should i do? Let it flower and collect the seeds? Thanks

Also for Phil or Jeff. Should I separate the plants apart in to larger pot? They just seem so crowded and I would like it much better if it is OK to seperat them. Thanks Nep.G.

We send a clump because I think they just look cool in a bunch..

You can separate them out into pots if you like...I have done that with some and they just GROW! Very neat! I love these little guys!

I dig the flowers that they produce...So I will let some go every once in a while...If you wanted to cut them off...it is up to you.

I see it when a CP makes a split in the flower spkie...just like an orchid...BETTER!! :smile:

If you like flowers ( or the relative irony of a killer plant with a flower ) ...let it go..the little purple/violet flowers are a nice touch!

Above all..I am just glad you got your plant and you dig it!

If you let only one Drosera spatulata plant set seed, you will have the plant everywhere in your collection !!!

I never bought one, but one day I found an "unidentified Drosera" and I let it flower.
Now I have hundreds of spatulata, growing between Nepethes, Darlingtonia, tuberous Drosera (6 wet months are enough for seedling to germinate, flower and set seed).
They are everywhere...
The ultimate carnivorous weed (maybe Utricularia subulata & Co is even worse)
