Interesting! I always thought that carnivorous plants had almost no impact on insect population, guess I was wrong.
 
Great article! Too bad the dew is losing the fight with the spider. I wonder if there is a sundew that could outperform the spider? Maybe if they tested it with a different food resource, one that finds the nectar more attractive?

Would the spiders making bigger webs in the presence of sundews be due to direct competition, or making use of the dew as bait and needs a bigger trap for alll the bounty?
