Capensis "red" root cuttings

I read in "The Savage Garden" that Drosera root cuttings should be buried up to 1/2 inch at most. Now this is fine and dandy, but I would like to hear what works for people here on the forums.

I've never done a capensis cutting - never had to until now. The lone "red" capensis I have has nice roots, so I hacked them off today (not all, just some in 2" strips). They are currently under 1/2 inch of peat.

thanks,

Homer

I took some d. adelae root cuttings (I didn't mean to... I was a beginner, cough cough... still am, but I didn't know they grew from root cuttings) and I put them on top of live sphag and ta-da! they grew... piece of cake.

i have a question...can you cut off a leaf and bury it? does it have to be a root?

w/ some it works better w/ roots and w/ others it works better w/ leaves.
I wouldn't BURRY a leaf. just lay it on top of the peat/sphag.

yeah good idea, i'll do that with my capensis red, i only have one..
