Dyflam, I'm too lazy to look them up, but I think they are called Thorn Bugs or something like that. If I am not mistaken, they are a species of the Cicada family.

Thanks for making me look... it's a type of treehopper. They are camoflaged as thorns to avoid being eaten by predators.
