Been growing nepenthes and sarracenia for a few years, but failing with darlingtonia

Hello everyone,

I'm from Socal. I have many failed darlingtonia experiments (growing them outside in partial sun, seed-grown seedlings indoors, small juvenile also indoors, all died on me). If anyone has any tips growing darlingtonia indoors, please let me know! I keep losing them to unpredictable heat waves here.

I grow nepenthes, sarracenia, and adeniums.

I use a plastic barrel half as a pot and I believe the large contact it has with the ground helps keep it cool during hot weather. I wonder if partially burying it might keep it even cooler. The ground is a very good heat sink.
