I know that having a basal shoot is usually a good sign, but I don't know if mine is. I was recently checking my N.x edinensis and some of the pitchers seem to turn brown a little faster than usual. I noticed a cut ona vine, not a serious cut, about I'm guessing 1 cm deep, and the vine is about 1 inch thick, so not a big deal. But I don't know if this cut on the vine stimulated the basal shoot to grow. This was my 2nd basal shoot, the first one I had got snapped off when I tried to repot it. I'm not making the same mistake. How long does it take basal shoots to grow. my first one took 3 months just to unfurl it's leaves or whatever nepenthes do.
