Autumn leaves & cp's

I've been keeping most of plants / containers outside, open tray. The leaves from the surrounding trees have been sending me daily leafy presents. I've been picking them out of the containers. Am I wasting my time? Does it matter? Is it a problem for the plants to have tree leaves in their media?

Jim,
I would say "yes" "no" and "no"..
leaves wont do anything bad..
in the wild, they get covered with leaves or pine needles anyway..
and even if the water in the trays gets all gunked up and dirty, thats just *organic* gunkyness and dirt..
very different from mineral hardness, which is the bad stuff in water..
so I say, just leave it all alone!
