Age of a sarr.

Hi, I was wondering, is there any way to tell how old a sarr. is? (by crown size or something)

I want to know if my really skinny pithered one is weak looking because it is young.

I don't think there is a way to tell the age of a sar. maybe the young ones have juvinile pitchers, but the old ones all look the same. a sick plant may be old, but weak. a young healthy plant may have a large rhizome and large pitchers. it all depends on the enviroment, not the age (unless its in its first few years where the pitchers are still juvinile). Basically a larger rhizomed plant will be older than a smaller one, but it's hard to put a figure on age.
