I have a Purple Pitcher (S. purpurea) that i recently gave a bug to. I know what some of these plants produce a liqued to to digest the bug. But i cant see any down in there. Do or can I squrit alittle water down there?
S. purpurea actually needs the water in the pitchers to be able to digest the food, it uses bacterial action to break the prey down, and it also lacks the enzymes that some of the trumpet pichers have.
