2 questions on pollinating

I have pollinated the flower twice. How do you know if you got it good?
Also I saw that you can save the pollen how do you get to it without damaging the flower?

You'll have to wait until September or October to see if seeds have been produced. To get some pollen I would lift up a petal and get a paintbrush in there.
