Both of my Nepenthes robcantleyi are in spike. Just a comparison of the two as it emerged and emerging from the crown. I think one is male and the other is female. The male (I think) are arranged in neat rows and rounder and female (I think) is not as neat and slightly elongated. As it matures...
Posting some of my Nepenthes photo shots in my collection.
N. [((lowii x veitchii) x boschiana) x (maxima x mira)]
N.[(lowii x veitchii) x boschiana] x [(veitchii x maxima) x veitchii]
N. ((eyame x veitchii) x burbidgerae)
N. [truncata x ((lowii x veitchii) x capanulata)]
Nepenthes [((lowii x veitchii) x boschiana) x (maxima x mira)] from Exotica plants. A plant I got a year ago or so but it took a long time to produce a pitcher. This is the second time to make one but it has two more pitcher coming up. The wait is worth it.
This are my two largest N. robcantleyi plants. Both are planted in 8" baskets. One is squaty with a hooded lid. The other is longer but has a wide peristome and narrow opening. Both are quite dark. I hope both flower soon.
N. robcantleyi plants
A couple of months ago I purchase from EP a specimen plant Nepenthes x [(lowii x veitchii) x (boschiana x campanulata)] and a day ago I notice it has a flower spike. The plant is just producing new leaves and pitchers so no mature pitchers yet, so I don't have a picture of the pitcher (I...
I got this seed grown N. peltata last March and it has grown well in my intermediate area but I notice that the petiole is attached at the margin not under as peltate leaf means. Is it another misnomer plant or its it just too small yet?
N. peltata 03-15
Just for fun placing this species side by side. Unfortunately the pitcher of the N. robcantleyi got bruised when I was cleaning the greenhouse and knocked it over a week ago.:censor:
Nepenthes robcantleyi and N. truncata
I have been growing this seed grown plant for about 7 years or so now and it is growing quite a nice one. It is planted in a 6" mesh pot. I like how the color progressed from April 20 to May 10. Also, the young leaves are reddish in color when young.
I really like this Nepenthes hybrid from EP. I like the stripe peristome (N. lowii influence), dark pitcher and plant is small. The pitcher is as big as the plant, very compact due to the N. aristolochioides in its background. It does have a few hairs under the lid.:banana2:
I am confused with my water quality in my area. I grow both orchids and nepenthes in my greenhouse so I got my water report for my area from my local water authority. The report says that a) Turbidity = 0.22 NTU, b) pH = 7.91,
c) Chlorine Residual = 0.91 mg/L (ppm), d) Hardness = 33 mg/L or...
I just can't help my self and I just fell in love with this species. So a bought this tiny but beautiful seedling. Has five awesome colored pitchers and one coming out. Now I don't want to kill it. My cool greenhouse where I grow my cool growing orchids is get 54 F or lower in the evening and...
I was researching what is the climate and elevation of the various major mountain areas where highland nepenthes grow since I would like to try growing them and I came across this Link http://www.yr.no/place/Malaysia/Sabah/ . On the upper left hand corner, there are the two major mountains Kota...
I was at the Golden Gate conservatory of flowers to see the carnivorous plant display and I saw this humongous N. truncata flowering (male I think, if you zoom in on the upper left hand corner you see a flower).
The leaves are I think 2 feet across.:0o:
N. truncata at the...
Hi Guys! I am a newby who just got hook on nepenthes. It all started when a friend of mine gave me seeds to grow N. truncata which I have been growing for about 3 to 4 years. First I did not know if I can grow it but slowly but surely it did and I got the hang of it. I attached some picture...
