Hello everyone.
I have a couple clumps of Sundews I am going to breakup. If anyone is interested in any, please let me know. PM me with what you would be willing to trade and we can work something out. These grow fine outside in zone 7.
Thanks,
I would switch to a mix of Canadian sphagnum peat moss and sand with an inch or two of the LFSM on top. Make sure the plants are rooted in the sand peat mixture. The LFSM will prevent the peat from splashing up on the plants when it rains. If the LFSM is pushed into the sand peat mix is should...
Packs of 100 VFT seeds $10, free shipping. USA only. Contact woodbridgecps@gmail.com if interested.
These are homegrown in zone 7b from plants outdoors all year. Harvested July 2018. Limited quantity.
Ok. It is July 9th.
The winners are... Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
Please send a PM (Private Message) to exchange email/address. I have plenty of envelopes, so will just need a first class stamp. I will pad the seeds in hopes of avoiding any crushed seeds on your end.
Happy 4th of July !
Many VFT seeds picked today. If interested in any, please start or add your name to the standard 1. 2. 3. etc.. list.
A random list of winners will be picked on July 9th. Winners will each get at least 20 seeds. Winners will need to send me a SASE to ship the seeds in.
Sent everyone who signed up and wanted some of these a PM for address exchange. If you did not get it, please let me know. Weather looks good for shipping starting this weekend, so will ship as soon as SASE arrive.
I will second the importance of pot size for these. My most impressive D. Capensis has been grown by itself in a deep 12" wide pot...peat and sphagnum 50/50 by volume.
I have a batch of TINY VFT's that failed to meet the desired growth rate over the past few months...so they must go.
If interested, please start the standard 1. 2. 3. list.
If more folks want them then I can supply a few of for each person, I will do a random draw on the 7th.
These will...
You might want to put your Cephalotus in a new container with a soil that has alot more sand in it. Ceps can dry out a bit, but they looked a little dry, really hard to say from a photo...just don't let there pot sit in water unless it is a tall pot. Good look with those, they look like they...
The live Sphagnum has worked very well for me. Maybe the issue is moving them around to much ? I lightly wrap the cutting in moss, stuff em in a pot, water until it drains, put it in a bag, mist it heavy, close the bag, and look back at them in a month or so....never touch em until I see new...
Hello everyone,
I found this online running down sources of info on Nepenthes:
https://www.carnivorousplants.co.uk/resources/nepenthes-interactive-guide/
Thought others might find it helpful.
I have used the BRS 4 stage for years and it works. For CPs the DI stage is really not needed. You may want to get the water saver upgrade at some point because the amount of waist water is high without it. Use that waist water to water less sensitive plants. You can pickup a couple 5 gallon...
Thanks for the input on this ID....I am assuming it will stop with the hairy lid pitchers as it matures and start looking like more of the ventrata I have seen. Does anyone have a "go to" book/source for the identification of Nepenthes, something similar the field guides for trees or mushrooms...
