The reason I wanted to plant it deeper is because the base is all brown and gross looking. There are some brown leaf remnants that I trimmed off, and I wanted to plant it to where it was green. Thanks for the help guys.

My newt just molted today! I saw him acting all weird with his legs real close to his body. Then he started to writhe and eat his skin. I've seen toads do this, and I kinda just forgot that a newt would probably do it too. It was a real cool thing to watch.

That makes sense, I guess. I really want it to pitcher though. If it won't start to make pitchers soon, I guess I'll take it out of the vivarium. It just looked so cool with living things near it...

I'm using just a regular flourescent plant light that is on about 15 hours a day. I don't have a timer or anything, so I just turn it on in the morning when I leave for school and turn it off around 10 at night. Is that too much light per day?

Where would I get other kinds of scorpions besides emperors? I didn't know any other kinds were sold. And, are the other kinds more dangerous?

That makes sense. A scorpion seems like the coolest animal to own. It's a real conversation starter.
