As it is hard to get good sunlight at my place due to the amount of trees we have in the garden, I've started using artifical lighting. I have one of those blue grow blubs and it is on for about 10 hrs a day(winding down for dormancy) Now my traps are growing small traps. Is this a sign of the...
I've heard ppl swear by super thrive and I've heard ppl say it's a waste of time. I haven't been able to find any superthrive here so I haven't been able to evaluate myself. I say if it was really that good then it wouldn't have that many doubters.
It doesn't need special attention if you let it flower. However it will weaken the plant and stunt it's growth for the rest of the growing season. In my honest opinion I would chop the flower stalk as the flowers arn't that impressive and it's easier to do leaf cuttings than grow from seed.
Just keep it near the VFT's that are doing well. Like you said the growing conditions are good enough if you have other healthy VFT's. Sounds like the plant may be suffering some form of stress. Give it at least two weeks and try to keep the humidity up. VFT's can die right back and when you...
I also grow my plants on a window sill. I find that a fly's natural instinct is to fly to a window and buzz around thinking it can get out. So you've put it in the best place to catch annoying flys. Doesn't matter how well you seal your house up, you are bound to get a few flys come inside the...
My 2 ceph's that I ordered have arrived today Tiny little things about 5cm across. I just hope I can keep em healthy. Also I bought a moisture tester as it's getting close to dormancy time and I don't want to over water my plants during the winter period.
I have read many conflicting information in regards to watering cephs. So I put the question to the growing experts you guys !!!. Do you water from the top or use the tray method?
Yep I've noticed that. I rescued those plants from a cruel garden nursery and looked half dead when I first got them. I rinsed the soil, put them in a sunny location and they have ended up so dewy and healthy looking and I haven't really done that much to them.
there is nothing wrong with chopping the whole leaf if it is still green. As you said in your post the plant is still photosynthesising so is making food for the plant. Chop it off to early and you don't get this benefit. The traps tend to go black first the takes a few weeks for the rest of the...
