5 of my giant mealworms turned into beetles!! anyways, im trying to get my superworms to pupate....but i read somewhere that they didnt not turn into beetles, therefore lasted longer...is this true? if not, how can i make than pupate? thanks by the way, they actually bite!! it kinda surprised...

it just finished raining outside, and when i checked to see if any of my pitchers were knocked over by the rain, i saw a pretty big frog/toad(4 inches) sitting on some of my older, pruned pitchers.  they sometimes urinate right before jumping away, so im wondering if the urine will affect the plant

too bad my dog doesnt like chasing squirrels...if i spray the sutff on the trees, would that make them not come down?

ARG...now i know what u mean...the squirrels dug up all my vfts, and left two outside the pot to dry out completely....i made a LOT of leaf cuttings just incase they died...the traps were just starting to develop the red in their traps...what are some ways to keep them from my plants, or to...

i have been successful at keeping superworms alive...none of them had died, except by my gecko. but mealworms and giant mealworms seem to be dying like crazy...anyone know how to keep them alive, other than sticking it in the fridge? thanx

leopard gecko (guessing that its about a year and a half) and the crickets n mealworms could be considered a pet too.

i got a judith hindle from this site around august. theres one pitcher that has red veins all over it, unlike the other ones. could it be maturing already? it looks like the top part of the pitcher is dark pink from far away. its not fully developed yet, so im not so sure. if it is maturing...

walmart sells aquariums?? or do you mean the big rubbermiad containers? ive never seen them at the walmart near where i live. if they do, how much would a 20 gallon terrarium/aquarium cost?

i read somewhere in the orchid forum that some species of orchids will produce plantlets in place of flower buds, if the conditions for flowering is not correct. what are the conditions for vfts to flower, and would altering the conditions make them produce traps instead of flowers? i would love...

anyone have one, or seen it? if not, then could it turn out to have wider, stronger pitchers? because when it rains, the water gets filled up in the pitchers and they collapse, knocking down other nearby pitchers as well..i heard somewhere that purpurea pitchers can get knocked over, but stands...

what happens to the plants that do not get sold? do you (phil, jeff) have any mature or semi mature plants? im interested in buying a mature plant, but not anytime soon..maybe next spring..

they are in direct sunlight all day, and they always have been. all four of them are in the same pot, and only one of them has long, semi-floppy leaves.

is there a reason for getting them bare root or in bulbs, other than the price?

what does it mean? are there any leaves on the plants? if not, then do they sprout small traps/leaves/pitchers or the size according to their age? thanks

i have four vfts in a 6 inch pot, and one of them has long, floppy leaves, and one has straight same length leaves that stay up about....60 degrees..( about half way between 90 and 45 degrees). the one with the floppy leaves seem to be older. the other two seem to be in the middle. anyone know why?
