    Lowland nepenthes conditions

Hello, I'm a long time Nepenthes grower but am recently struggling a bit to get the right conditions for my plants after switching to some more powerful lights (the old one broke). Some of my plants that were closer to intermediate than lowland died, and some others are suffering - slow growth...

A few of my favorite Pic's

Cool that matches my terrarium setup almost exactly. Maybe I will look around for one. Your albomarginata look great as well.

Great photos and plants! Do you have any problems growing Truncata X XTrusmadiensis under lowland conditions? Or do you have it in intermediate/highland?

Is your basement naturally cool because of the climate you live in? Because your highland plants seems to be doing great.

Great pics! I really like the N.flava. What kind of grow setup do you have?

    Happy bday trashcan!

Hey thanks. I lurk more than I post since I don't have very many plants any more. My plants thank everyone on the forum though, there's a lot of good advice on here. And who gets sick on their birthday!? :-/

    Nepenthes windowsill growers - assemble!

So far only the ventricosa has had any pitchers die. The top half of 2 pitchers have died, and the third looks a little rough but isn't dead yet. The copelandii had one of its pitchers lower its lid, but the other three look perfect. The ventricosa x talangensis has not shown any ill effects...

    Windowsill bical

Brown patches are usually signs of stress/shock. Has the plant continued to grow? How does the growth point look?

    Ban-Crazy

Regulating personal safety is a mistake, IMHO. That's the only point I was trying to make. Current law makes no difference on my opinion. I hate to use the "slippery slope argument" because it's a terrible logical fallacy. But if you can justify a helmet law, you can justify requiring a one...

So any restriction on driving would be justified in your opinion? Seem silly to me.

That's not true though. You don't have to wear a helmet where I live. It's your opinion that it should be, not the law in all 50 states.

I agree, although in the end I suppose this is my "opinion" and it shouldn't be forced on anyone else. Although I'd imagine it's a little less debated than something like a seatbelt, it's easy to take too far. I'm sure for every person that argues that it's unsafe to ride without a helmet, there...

My personal opinion is that the government should only "encourage" people to be more responsible, and not punish them for being irresponsible. For example, perhaps if you're pulled over not wearing a seatbelt, you get a citation that only goes to your insurance company. You aren't fined, but...
