I really haven't thought much about that. I've just planted it, and it's in a big cooler so it has plenty of room to grow. I can...

I like aeration, and do it myself for minibogs, but not on a large scale. I've never tested it in a double-blind way. It may be useless.
That said, I have been advised that a thorough, "flood-it-out" watering with fresh rainwater once every month or two will do the job at little or no extra...
Brisco, Ram, thanks.
I will have to think this over carefully. This thing will be in my basement over the winter (cold and sunny down there). A hole might make a mess when I water it.
Noah--that's a nice setup. Duckweed? Looks beautiful. I did not know that metal was acceptable. All the...
Hmm--I could put a hole near the bottom and run clear tubing up the side--this should show water level clearly, assuming a good seal.
That's a pretty big assumption, of course.

It's raining every day!! My minibog is full of water. Some of the sundews are submerged. Do I drain this or not?
If I do drain it, how much water should I leave behind? I have them in a very large pot and could put a hole in it anywhere along its height to maintain a water level--I'd just...
They look phylloidial, but I'm sure they are just weird.
No aphids. We don't get them here. I know that seems odd, but they just don't like the little plot out back. Maybe it's the plant mix.

Even filtered sunlight that is good for the plants can be too much for the container. If you get a lot of condensation, and even filtered sunlight will do this, you will get fungus.
Steve
If your water table is very high, and a lot of us are living on "reclaimed" swamp land with very high water indeed, you can sink a barrel into the ground and punch a few holes for continous water whenever you need it. Run a bucket down when you--
Waitaminit--I've just reinvented the well!
Steve
Two new leaves are now up--no signs that they will even form into pitchers. Tiny, mutant hoods at the tip.
Looks like it's trouble. I hope I don't lose the whole bog.
Steve
Well, the topic says it all. Anyone else getting condensation inside the hoods of their cobra lilies? I can see the beads of moisture through the "windows."
A side note. A wandering ant practically threw itself into this plant the other day--it seemed quite deliriously happy, marching right...
