I use window screen
I wash sand and perlite with window screen. I lay the window screen in a large cement tub and then poor in sand or perlite. I then dump water over it and stir it around. Then I pick up the corners of the screen and make a sack out of it and lift. The water pours out and I...
Hey everyone,
Not all BACPS members get the newsletter, and not all CP people in the Bay Area are members, so I thought I'd appeal to the group for some volunteers to help staff the booth at the SF Flower and Garden show. There were a lot of positions to fill as it is a 5 day show, and we got...

The BACPS has an incredible opportunity to show well over 1,000 kids and many more adults what carnivorous plants are, how they work and how to grow them. It will...
I've seen several but a search only brought up this one. It is impressive, but doesn't show how superior the plants are.

In Barry Rice's FAQ he mentions "Isao Takai of Japan has been doing amazing horticultural things with his B. filifolia"
I saw some pictures a while back of their amazing plants and
have long wondered why the seeds have not made it over here.
Anyone have any idea if he sells seeds? Any idea...

It's going to be very interesting this year. Every year some great growers drop out and new ones come in. This year there are several new people I have heard about through the grape vine that are going to be there. I'm really looking forward to it!
BACPS Annual Show and Sale 2007 Sept. 22
Hey Nepenthes growers, I hope some of you can bring your incredible plants to the show this this year! We've had some good ones in the past and everyone loves them. Are there any ideas on how future shows could handle the fact that some of the plants are...

Hi all,
Has anyone seen the display at the Chelsea Flower Show this year? I met Charlie Dimmock a little over a month ago and she was expecting a particularly good CP Display.
Also, the BBC came out to California a little over a month ago with Charlie Dimmock and interviewed Harry, my daughter...
D. adelae - Hardier than I thought
I have some D. adelae that I put outside in a very cold frame complete with tears in the fabric that survived our freezes out here. It is protected but it got down to 26 degrees here for several nights in a row. I was surprised.
