Some birds use plants as nesting material. I had lost some plants to pegions that used some of my plants as a nest. Neting might do the trick. Or my be a wooden owl or something just my 2 cents.

I didn't expect that the rootsyestum would be that long. is it okey to trim the roots a little.

You guys can always go to Mt. Tampalpas over by the Golden Gate. It should be high enough to get a view of the night sky without the city lights. Or Mt. Diablo over near Concard. Is a good location. But I never have been up there.
