How much humidity are we talking? (right now the area averages over 70% humidity) Also--I've nothing built so therefore I would have nothing to put them in /cover to get the humidity up. Would one of those "Jungle pot" terrariums work for this (though I'd like to keep the plant potted)? And if...

Yep--on my medium I've some green also. I believe it's moss and won't bother a mature VFT. I think it may bother seedlings or maybe other CPs. -peace Eric

If the trap is only black--I'd say to just remove the trap, as the rest that is still green can benefit the plant. If the whole length is dead--I would remove it then. I am pretty new at this but thats what I got out of reading up on these so far. Anyone else?? -peace Eric

Yep--the rain finally stopped here last night. Talk about flooding! The lights I use are 40 watt. I'll keep the shade in mind when the weather permits me placing them outside. Thanks Steve!! -peace Eric

I'm in the Chicago area and where I live there is not good placement for long periods of real sun--especially now with the weather. I figure once it heats up I will move my VFT outside to catch at least 4-5 hours of good sun, but I know that isn't enough. So...I built a little set up for my new...

Reading through the posts I noticed that it seems like I should only feed my VFT 1-2 times per month.... or it may die?? What happens in it's natrual wild setting where I'm sure the probability of eating more than that occurs? Thanks! -peace Eric
