VFT With No Dormancy Mentioned on ICPS

From a grower in south florida (high forties were the lowest lows we got, and that was maybe for a week in total), the plants do not need a cold dormancy However, they do go dormant Doesn't matter that it's 80° out, as long as the light levels decrease enough, they will take the cues and go...

Mixed up feelings with growing Sarras

I would think about doing it now if the peat that it is sitting in is more than a year old, even if it isn't, I would still consider it When you repot it, I'd suggest half perlite half peat as a basic mix but be careful of breathing in the dust emitted by the perlite Sent from my SM-G930P...

Mixed up feelings with growing Sarras

Yeah, that's more than fine In the wild plenty of the plants get full sun all day long without trees to block the Florida, Alabama, Mississippi etc sun Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Mixed up feelings with growing Sarras

No, I don't worry much about the ph at all I'd worry far more about whether or not the roots are getting enough aeration If they don't get enough oxygen in the pure peat (which is likely to be the case), then their roots might just keep rotting Dews are pretty resilient and generally may not...

Mixed up feelings with growing Sarras

Are you sure it's not Sphagnum peat moss? Usually when growing carnivorous plants, we use Sphagnum peat moss (looks like soil) or dried Sphagnum (looks like dried yellow moss) , if you're not using one of those then that could be an issue. Additionally, are you using anything in your media...

Mixed up feelings with growing Sarras

It shouldn't need shade if it is kept moist How old is the media /what does the media consist of? If you can smell the bottom of the pot, does it smell earthy or sour? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    Pinguicula immaculata

No idea honestly, the only pinguicula I've gotten from seed is P. lusitanica and that's a bad one to guage the time to maturity since it's an annual /semi-annual Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    Pinguicula immaculata

I didn't have anything else handy when I got it so it has been growing in a 1:1:1 mix of peat perlite and coarse sand [emoji28] Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Three plants in my collection are suddenly having their leaves turn brown?

Take a magnifying glass and look to see if you have any bugs like mites Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

    Pinguicula immaculata

I'm going to try to do just that eventually but I'm not sure how often it divides so it might just be all from leaf pullings Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
